Momen+um Youth

Why MOMEN+UM? The obstacles facing today’s youth are obvious: peer pressure, media, sex, substance abuse and violence. But, with God’s help, we believe teenagers can learn to throw off those hindrances and build MOMEN+UM in their relationship with God and each other! We are doing our best to make this happen @ MOMEN+UM.

MOMEN+UM Purpose statement:
“Fueled by our LOVE for God, MOMEN+UM youth exists to REACH teenagers with the message of Jesus, CONNECT them with each other, EMPOWER them to live for God, and DISCOVER His purpose for their lives.”

Discipleship:  We believe in the ability of every young person to be a world changer.  Potential is only potential until it is put into practice at which point it becomes world changing when partnered with the power of God!  The Bible tells us that to follow Christ means to be His disciple.  Our challenge to teenagers is not settle for simply know more about God, but to know God more!  In discipleship students will grow individually and together through intentional, relevant curriculum based material.  (Tuesday’s 7pm)

Friday’s:  This is where teenagers will want to be!  With a powerful worship band, relevant teaching, important discussions and hilarious games every youth night promises to be a fantastic time to meet with God and with friends.  Each week begins with an opportunity to hang out with friends in the ‘lounge’ or play sports in the gym, followed by a unique service geared for teenagers. Check us out every Friday! (Friday’s Doors Open @ 6:30pm)

Youth Retreat:  Once every year we pack up a bus and head to a retreat centre for an entire weekend of amazing times filled with great services, high-octane worship, crazy fun and powerfully relevant messages from God’s Word.  Our next Retreat is coming up in January of 2012…keep checking back for details coming soon!

Youth Convention:  Every year in May we join with a few thousand other teenagers from all over Western Ontario in Waterloo, Ontario for our annual convention.  We bring in popular bands and an amazing speaker.  Together with sport competitions, amazing services and much more we have a blast of a weekend.

Youth Camp:  Every year in July, Braeside Camp hosts an annual Youth Camp attended by hundreds of teenagers.  With a similar ‘feel’ to Convention and Retreat it is that much better because it lasts an entire week!!
